The Banff Park Museum National Historic Site is an exhibition space associated with Banff National Park. The oldest building maintained by Parks Canada, the museum was declared a National Historic Site of Canada in 1985 and was classified as historic structure the following year. It houses more than 5,000 vintage botanical and zoological specimens — from bears and bighorns, to birds and bees. The Banff Park Museum shows us how natural history was understood in Canada near the end of the Victorian era.
